Cessna ARF Plane Flight

Dec 8 2001
Here are some pictures of our best flying session up to this day. These are also the first in flight pictures we have. It really turned out to be a great day to have the camera. Previous days were consumed with just not killing the plane. This time we almost forgot to take pics during the first flight because we were so enthralled with watching it go!

After the last set of crashes we decided to change engines from the stock 27t to a spare 20t I had from my Traxxas Rustler truck. It drains batteries fast but it only weighs half as much and can pull the plane better. We drained three batteries and had three successful dead stick landings thanks to the motor cut off. Landing with no thrust went better than I had hoped. It glided in at a controllable rate with decent handling. It never seemed as nice with the weight of the stock motor. It always felt like flying a brick.
